John D. Cloud, Sr., 65, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in Sneads, FL on June 27, 2019.  He was a person of faith and lived life serving others.  He was a member of Emmanuel Holiness Church and went above and beyond to help others in the community.  He would give encouragement to others, reminding them to “never lose faith in God”.  John and his wife Cynthia had a collaborative and caring relationship.  It was based on mutual support and a deep love for each other.  He was committed to family, making sure that all knew of the support to achieve their highest potential.  John’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life.  He was known to them as the “the world’s greatest paw-paw”.  His kind and gentle spirit, zest for life, and passion for helping others will live on through them.  John will be greatly missed by family and friends but never forgotten.

John is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Cynthia Cloud; three daughters, Marie Barnes (Rick) of Grand Ridge, Kristal L. Simpson (Shelly) of Sneads, and Sherry Cloud of Sneads; one son, John D. Cloud, Jr. (April); three sisters, Meartice Faircloth of Bristol, Ida Wagner of Sneads, and Annie Davis (Joe) of Altha; one brother, Robert Cloud (Cecilee) of Grand Ridge; eleven grandchildren, Chance Barnes (Tori), Alissa Chambliss (Kameron), Katimarie Barnes (DJ), Jay Hurst, Aaron Hurst, Lilly Hurst, Matthew Hurst, Jesse Rosenberger, Tristian Cloud, Tara Cloud, and Shelly Ray Simpson, Jr.; two great grandchildren, Charleigh Barnes, Riley Simpson, and one on the way; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents J.W. and Frances Cloud; and one son, Chris Cloud.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Emmanuel Holiness Church beginning at 11:30 AM CST with Pastor Eva Howell officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing. Visitation for friends and family will be one hour prior to service at 10:00 AM CST.   Interment will follow at Emmanuel Holiness Church Cemetery.
