James Richard Shores, native of Alford, Florida passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the age of 66. He was born on August 6, 1955 to the late Edward Richard Shores and Jessie Ruth Butler Shores. Richard was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Cornerstone New Life Fellowship in Cottondale, Florida. He was a gifted carpenter and worked on many projects around Jackson County. Richard enjoyed being outdoors and fishing in the creeks. He loved horses and his special K-9 companion and best friend, “Woody”
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold Shores, Claude Shores, and Monroe Shores.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Lana Crooms (Aaron) of Marianna, Florida; one brother, Gordon Edwards Shores of Alford, Florida; two sisters, Doris Pauline Harrington of Alford, Florida and Betty Geraldine Piercy (Ricky) of Irving, Texas and one grand daughter, Tinsley. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, that all loved him dearly.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Central Time on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Hickory Level Cemetery in Marianna, Florida with Brother Thomas Bryant officiating.
