Jackie D Roberts, age 62, God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you, and whispered, “Come with Me.” On Tuesday, October 25, 2022, Jackie drew his last earthly breath, then joined his beloved parents, Charles L. and Mary Lois (Fears) to begin his eternal life.

He was born on July 21, 1960, in Chattahoochee, Florida. Graduating from Sneads High School he went on to retire from the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

In March 2000, Jackie met his forever Valentine, Laura, and they were married on February 14, 2001. Their family were the loves of his life. He is survived by their children, Joshua (Brandi) and Ashley (Drew), and predeceased by a daughter, Tasha.

Their “Pop” will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Connor, Cooper, Corbin, Cami, Cora, Dustin, Andrea, Abbie and Amber, with whom he spent countless hours spoiling with trips to restaurants, cooking for, watching football and in Cora’s case, playing peek-a-boo.

Jackie was the baby of the three Roberts brothers which include Charles Wayne (Susan) and Andy (Kim). No family fish fry will be the same without Andy and Jackie working side by side.

One of his many titles was Uncle, and his 5 nieces and nephews, 3 great nieces and nephew, and 2 bonus nephews will all lovingly be retelling their Uncle Jackie stories for years to come.

All who knew him considered Jackie as their best friend, an amazing tribute to this giant of a man. This includes his group of very special cousins with whom he shared his love of football, racing, and fishing. Bobby, whose friendship with Jackie is one that all people should strive for, was a friend, confidante, and his best fishing buddy.

A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove He only takes the best. “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25:23

Jackie’s “Celebration of Life and Memorial Service” will be at 11 AM, Saturday, October 29, 2022, at his home church, Sneads Assembly of God, on River Road. Brother Juno Douglas will officiate. Flowers may be sent directly to the church.
