Jimmy was born in Dothan Alabama on April 10, 1947 and died at the Bethany House in Auburn Alabama on February 17, 2022. The eldest of four children he grew up in Graceville Florida and graduated from Graceville High School. He was married to the love of his life for 56 years and worked in, or owned, a number of businesses before spending his last working years as an RN and retired in 2010. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife Cathryn Register, his son Paul (Ruth) Register of Auburn, daughters, Amy Sholar of Decatur Alabama, Roby Register of Decatur Alabama and Genny (David) Nash of Centerville Tennessee, sister, Judy (Mike) Holloway of Cantonment Florida, sister in laws Carolyn Watford, Robin (Reggie) Brookins, Marie Guettler, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, six nieces and 8 nephews, several great nieces and nephews and best friend, his dog, Marley.
He is preceded in death by his parents Mary Dell and Howard James Register Sr., brothers David Register and Gary Register and brother-in-law Danny Watford and nephew Eric Watford.A visitation will be held at 1 p.m., (CST) followed by a 2 p.m., (CST) Memorial Service on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at James & Lipford Funeral Home Chapel in Graceville Florida. Jeffcoat – Trant Funeral Home and James & Lipford Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Flowers may be sent to James & Lipford Funeral Home or contributions made to the Bethany House in Auburn; a special thanks to everyone at Bethany House for making his final moments peaceful.
