Mr. Hezekiah Pittman age 87 of Campbellton, FL passed away Sunday, August 25th at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marianna FL.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday, August 31st at St. John A. M. E. Church located at 2199 AME Road in Campbellton, FL with Reverend Linda E. Ellis (Pastor) and Reverend Bernard Hudson (Eulogist) officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton directing.
A public viewing will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p. m. Friday, August 30th at the Shira Sr. & Chelcie McKinnie Memorial Chapel.
Mr. Hezekiah Pittman was born on May 10, 1932 in Campbellton, FL. He was the fifth of ten children born to the late Joshua & Maudie Lee Pittman.
He accepted Christ at early age and joined St. John A. M. E. church in Campbellton, FL. He joined the United States Army and proudly served country approximately two years. He fought in Korean War on the front line, first infantry division. When the war ended he was discharged and returned home.
He was united in holy matrimony to Shirley R. Hitchmon of Dothan, AL. They moved to Bronx N.Y. to this union three children were born.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, ex wife, one daughter and three siblings.
He leaves to cherish memories,
Two Children: Saadia L. Pittman and Efrem Byron Pittman both of N.Y.
Seven Siblings: Lewis “LR” Pittman of Graceville, FL, James Pittman & wife Rebecca, Nixon “ND” Pittman & wife Annie Mae, Foy Lee Pittman & wife Viola and Katrina Olds all of Campbellton, FL; Flettie Winston of Rome, NY and Kathleen Pittman of Norcross, GA; Five Grandchildren, and numerous Great-Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
