Henry Nathan Ezell, Jr., aka “Coach Ezell”, of Graceville, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 19, 2023. Born January 5, 1947, he was the son of Nathan and Louise Ezell, longtime Graceville residents.

He was a 1965 graduate of Graceville High School and a 1969 graduate of The University of Montevallo, where he was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Henry was an educator, administrator, and basketball coach within the Jackson County School System for over 25 years. He was a faithful member of the Graceville First United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir (with his favorite sister-in-law, Brenda). He was an avid golfer and Alabama fan, “Roll Tide”!

Preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law W. C. and Irma Revell and brother-in-law Stuart Jones.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sue Revell Ezell, two children Jarrett Ezell and Jodi Morgan (David), sister Carol Ann Ezell, many nieces and nephews. He was the best Poppy to Judson, Claudia and Mary Claire Morgan.

A Home-going service will be held 11 a.m., (CDT), Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church in Graceville with Rev. Dean Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the church Wednesday, 10 a.m. until time of the service.
