Harold Craig Whittington, Sr., age 58, of Graceville, FL, passed away Monday, June 17, 2019 in Dothan, AL after a lengthy illness. Craig was born on February 6, 1961 on Eglin Air Force Base in Fort Walton Beach, FL to Harold A. and Mary E. Whittington. He was a veteran and proudly served his country in the U S Navy for four years. Craig retired after many years of faithful service from Apalachee Correctional Institution. He was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed attending and watching ballgames and was an expert marksman, in fact he won several shooting competitions. He will be missed but not forgotten.
Survivors include his two sons, CJ Whittington (Ashley) of Spanish Fort, AL and Sam Whittington (Michaela) of Graceville; his mother Mary E. King of Sneads; two sisters, Vicki Louketis of Sneads and Anji Scott (Michael) of Sneads; one grandson, Marcus Whittingtin of Sneads; one niece, Brittany Mayo; two nephews, Jason Louketis and Seth Scott; the mother of his children, Coreen Fay Cummings and a long time best friend, Gregg Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold A. Whittington; and grandparents, Ervin Whittington, Cleo Hunter, Thomas L. and Mary E. Hall.
The family will receive friends Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:00 AM CDT one hour prior to services at McAlpin Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 11:00 AM CDT with Rev. Raymond O’Quinn officiating. Interment will be private.
