Mrs. Gussie Rivers Hooks of the McChapel Community of Marianna, Florida, transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Thursday, March 12, 2020 in Signature Healthcare at the Courtyard.
Mrs. Hooks was a member of the McChapel African Episcopal Church where she served faithfully in various capacities. To know her was to love her.
Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM from the sanctuary of the McChapel African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 4963 Old U.S. Road in Marianna, Florida 32446 where Reverend Chris Jordan is pastor with the Reverend Walter Hooks officiating. Interment in the McChapel Cemetery. Vann Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hooks will lie in repose at the church from 12:00 Noon until time for the service.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish a lifetime of lasting love and eternal memories, a loving family:

Two Daughters: Rita Hooks Grissett of Memphis, TN; and Glennetta Hooks Davis (Edward) of Montgomery, AL
One Brother: Henry Rivers (Sallie) of Jacksonville, FL
Two Sisters: Lola Mae Rivers and Beulah Pearl Rivers both of Jacksonville, FL
Three Sisters-in-Law: Sallie Mae Rivers of Marianna, FL; Oralene Pierce; and Myrtistine Hooks both of Sandersville, GA
One Brother-in-Law: Mitchell Hooks (Delores) of Riverdale, GA
And a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
