Mark Skinner | TIMES - Graceville’s Kyreese Watford takes the ball for a touchdown last week.

Coach Barry Gardner has to be feeling pretty sporty after picking up his second win in as many tries. Friday night, his Graceville Tigers traveled to Jay and the ride home on the Yellow Dog was a happy one with a 14-7 win.
Graceville scored first and never trailed in the game. Jeremiah Castro was the first Tiger to find the endzone on a 35-yard run. Quavo Sorey caught a two-point conversion pass from Mantris Cotton to put the Tigers up 8-0.
The next score came on a two-yard run from Castro to make it a 14-0 game.
It was in the final minutes of the game, Jay came through with a touchdown to narrow the lead 14-7 but it was too little too late.
On the night, Castro rushed for 113 yards on nine carries with two touchdowns.
Following the game, a happy first year head coach at Graceville said, “The effort is there. We have to get a little bit better at details and as far as getting lined up on defense. Got to cut down on penalties.”
Graceville will be on the road on short rest as they are scheduled for a Thursday night game against Bay at Tommy Oliver Stadium in Panama City. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
