School is operating through distance learning and baseball has been canceled for the 2020 season. That doesn’t stop the Graceville baseball team from giving back to the community.
The team knows how budget cuts have hurt their program through no one’s fault, just a sign of the times. The local teams rely on donations and sponsorships from the community. So, with baseball on hold, what better time to give back to those who have given to them over the years?
Coach Greg Ohler said parents, players and friends of the team came through big time in providing snacks of all kinds for the frontline workers at Jackson Hospital Emergency Room. Ohler was overwhelmed at the response for the players opportunity to give back, “I ended up getting so much stuff I had to put the back seats of my Yukon down just to carry it all.”
Ohler praised everyone who helped and included a huge thank you to the frontline workers, “A big thanks goes to the folks working on the front line. Wherever you are, stay safe. We thank you for all you do.”
