Mr. Freddie Lee “Fred” Roulhac of Ft. Lauderdale and formerly of Marianna, the Pope Chapel Community, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 29th in Ft. Lauderdale. He was 87 years old.
At an early age Brother Roulhac accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and joined Pope Chapel African Methodist Church.
Brother Roulhac was a construction laborer by trade. He was blessed to achieved a significant career milestone as a member of the construction crew tasked with building the Jackson County Court House prior to relocating to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
During his fifty (50) year residency in Fort Lauderdale, Brother Roulhac united with Mount Bethel Baptist Church where he served faithfully singing in the choir, attending Sunday School, and worship services, and witnessing to others about “God’s Goodness” until his health failed.
Precious memories of Brother Fred’s life will linger in the hearts of his Children: Eloise Clayton (Charles), Pastor Freddie D. Roulhac (Merlin) Marianna, Florida, Fredrick D. Roulhac (Charlie Mae) Greenwood, Florida.
Grandchildren: Allen Clayton, Alanna Clayton, Scotty D. Roulhac (Kindra), Quinton Roulhac, Quintina Staley (Pastor Adrian), Deontray Roulhac, and Cananea Reed Staley; 6 Great-grandchildren & 1 Great-great-grandchild
Brothers: Shepherd Myrick, Jr. (Linda), Curtis Myrick, Sr. (Celeste) Marianna, Florida; William Myrick (Thelma) Montgomery, Alabama
Sisters: Linda Long (Dennis) Montgomery, Alabama; Brenda Myrick, Gulf Shores, Alabama
Brother Fred’s legacy of life also includes a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends; and his devoted and caring neighbors of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (Dwight Kenon, Marvin Wright, Alvin Lewis, Louise Harmon, Lynn Gayle, and Cardell Bynes (Brinta).
A Celebration of Fred’s life will be held Saturday, March 14, at 11:00a.m. at Pope Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with Paster Larry Brown, Rev. Freddie D. Roulhac, Rev. Dana Boykin, Rev. Abraham Johnson and Bishop Adrian Abner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
