Forrest Eugene “Dean” Cooper, age 68, of Sneads, FL, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare.

Dean was born in Port St. Joe, FL, and later moved to Perry, FL. In 2006, Dean and his loving wife, Linda, moved to Sneads, FL, where they retired and loved to go fishing on Lake Seminole. Dean’s fishing adventures also led him to Lake Okeechobee, Lake Istopoga, and many other lakes in South Florida where he focused mainly on bass fishing. Linda usually joined him on his fishing trips and was considered his favorite fishing partner.

Dean was the son of Henry and Mamie Deese Cooper and was in the construction business where he was a highly skilled carpenter and roofer. In his free time, he loved working with his hands by building special designed doll houses and woodwork. Dean was known by many as a sweet spirit that deeply cared for his family and friends. He especially cherished his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dean was deeply loved by many people and will be missed by all that knew him.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Terri Cooper; seven brothers, Olen, Nolan, Frank, Jack, Bob, Leo, and Don Cooper; and one sister, Jean Cooper. He was the last surviving sibling in the family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda; sons, Joey Cooper, Kaleb Cooper, and Jonathan Shaw all of Sneads, FL; daughter, Michelle Cooper of Sneads, FL; grandchildren, Kortnee Clarke of Sneads, FL and Amber Martinez of Ashburn, VA; great grandchildren, Katelynn, Maverick, Azul, and Willow.

A memorial service for Dean will be at a later date. Memorialization will be by cremation with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
