On Thursday, January 23rd, 2020, Faye Sneads McDaniel joined her husband, son and youngest daughter in the presence of their Lord. She was two weeks shy of her 86th birthday.
Faye was born on February 6th,1934 in Sneads, FL to Buford and Clara Sneads. She was the only daughter of five children. Faye was a proud graduate of Sneads High School and excellent member of the lady Pirates basketball team. She loved sharing stories of her prowess on the basketball court. On September 11, 1951, she married Earl McDaniel. They raised one son, David (deceased 2017) and two daughters, Connie and Brenda (deceased 1999). Earl and Faye owned and managed McDaniel’s IGA for 35 years where they not only made a living, they touched the lives of so many faithful employees.
Miss Faye, as she was known to many, loved her family and enjoyed attending their school programs and ball games. The First Baptist Church of Sneads was her spiritual home away from Heaven. She had been an active member since the early 50s. Shopping was a fine art to her and eatin’ out had to be Paramore’s for catfish.
Faye is survived by her brother, Harry and wife, Alfreda, daughter, Connie and husband, James, as well as her daughter-in-law, Marsha. Her grandchildren Jamie and wife, Arrion, Daniel and wife, Holly, and Ashley, with her husband, Jack, Mark and wife, Sarah, Michael, and Virginia. The great grandchildren include Garrison, Ryne, Bailey and Will. She is also survived by many very precious nieces, nephews, and very, very dear friends.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2020 at Sneads First Baptist Church at 11:00 CST with Rev. Robert Johns and Dr. Jerry Oswalt officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow at Pope Cemetery. The visitation will be at 10:00 CST one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Sneads and flowers will be appreciated if preferred.
