Eugene Flowers, 83 of Marianna, Florida died Friday, January 28, 2022 at his residence.
Mr. Eugene Flowers was born in Pensacola, Florida November 5, 1938. He was 83 years old at his passing on January 28. 2022. He passed away at his last home, Connally Manor, Sunland, Marianna, Florida. Although Eugene lead a restricted life after a bicycle accident, he found joy every day. One of Eugene’s great, lifelong pleasures was to eat, especially, chocolate, and drink coffee. He loved visits from family and beautiful women. Like many Flowers relatives, he enjoyed listening to music and singing. Watching western movies on television was also a favorite pastime. As a young man he liked going to the beach, riding his bike, and playing with his many nieces and nephews. Eugene was respectful and asked for very little. Always a person of few words, his preferred greeting was a handshake to all who passed. At the end of family visits, Eugene didn’t say goodbye; instead, he said, “Keep it classy”.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Flowers and Margaret Ward Flowers and all his siblings and their spouses. His siblings were Olive Flowers, Lurie Flowers, Robert Flowers, Sherman Flowers, Daniel Flowers, Fred Flowers, Donald Flowers, Edna Flowers Cutts, Margret Flowers Pendo, and Vivian Flowers Roselle.
Eugene is survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews, who remember him with great affection. Additionally, he is survived by a multitude of Sunland caregivers, who became his extended family and to whom he loved and counted on for his daily needs.
Viewing and Services for Mr. Eugene Flowers will be at James & Sikes Funeral Home and Maddox Chapel, 4278 Lafayette St., Marianna, FL on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Viewing begins at 1:00 PM, services at 2:00 PM, and a brief graveside message to follow at Chipola Cemetery, Hwy 71, Altha, FL.
