Emma Ruth Taylor, 95, of Malone went home to be with the Lord, Friday, March 31, 2023 at Courtyard Healthcare in Marianna.

She was born December 26, 1927 to Hubert and Ollie B. Peeler. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. Emma Ruth’s was a homemaker and she loved gardening, especially enjoyed her flowers.

Emma Ruth was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church in Malone where she was very active in WMU, served on numerous committees and taught the women’s Sunday school class. Loving the Lord was a constant part of her life.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Hubert Taylor; her parents; five brothers, Roy Peeler, Robert Peeler, Walt Peeler, Major Peeler and Howard Peeler.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda T. Neel of Marianna and Bobbye T. Corbin (Jerry) of Dothan; her sister, Patricia Holland; grandchildren, Scott Taylor, Adam Corbin, Andrew Corbin and Ellory Cartagena (Wil); great-grandchildren, Meagan Lowe, Alden Corbin, Emersyn Corbin, Taylor Corbin, Ella Corbin, Alex Cartagena, JD Taylor, Lucie Taylor, Charlie Cartagena and Madison Cartagena.

Her Funeral service will be at 11 AM Monday, April 3, 2023 at Friendship Baptist Church in Malone with Rev. Nash Wills and Ronald Fowler officiating. The Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends Monday, at 10 AM, one hour prior to the service at Friendship Baptist.
