Elsie Virginia Smith Royle was born June 7, 1937, in Quincy, Florida and passed away July 14, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Virginia graduated from Chattahoochee High School in 1955 and attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.  She had a long career in the insurance industry beginning in the 1960’s.  She was a long-time member of the Las Vegas Insurance Professionals, affiliated with the International Association of Insurance Professionals in Nevada and Florida.  She held many offices in the organization including President of the Las Vegas Insurance Professionals and Nevada Council Director.  She was awarded the insurance Professional of the Year for her dedication and service to the industry and often taught insurance classes.  Virginia was also a talented floral designer and avid reader.  Her favorite quote was, “Knowledge is Power”.

Virginia was predeceased by her father, William Carl Smith and her mother, Morrell McLane Smith and her paternal grandparents, Mittie Lee and William Albert Smith.  She is survived by her husband, John Kent Royle; daughters, Susan Gayle Bryant Radney and Helen (Sunni) Bryant Bogle (Jeff); stepchildren, Keith Royle and Tammy Pruitt; grandchildren, Melisa Radney Willingham (Mark), Cody Cochran (Amy), Kady Brock and Kyle Brock; and great grandchildren, Eyan and Gavan Willingham.  She is also survived by her sister, Karen Lee Alford (Daniel); her aunt, Catherine Smith Budlong and a host of friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.  She loved her family and will be missed by them all.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM Eastern Time at McAlpin Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Alford and Rev. Mike Kramer officiating.  A time of visitation will begin one hour prior to services at 10:00 AM Eastern Time.  In lieu of flowers, Virginia would encourage you to donate supplies to your local school and teachers.   Interment will be private.
