The polls opened in Jackson County at 7 a.m. this morning and will remain open until 7 p.m. this evening. The Times encourages everyone to exercise their right to vote for the candidate of their choice but at the same time, we ask that you be respectful of all candidates.

As of 11 a.m. today, we are one-third of the way through the primary election day voting. There have been 9,143 votes cast. Of those, 1,065 were cast today; 4,268 were early voters and 3,860 voted by mail.

On election day, at the Alford Community Center, 84 Republicans voted, 40 Democrats and 9 others voted.

At the Campbellton Community Center, 32 Democrats voted, with 12 Republicans and 4 others.

Citizens Lodge had 83 Republicans who have voted, 43 Democrats and 3 others.

The County Commission Building has had 31 Democrats cast their vote, 11 Democrats and one other to vote.

The Cottondale Community Center has had 47 Republicans cast their vote with 28 Democrats and three others who have voted.

Eastside Baptist Church has had 83 Republicans vote with 17 Democrats and three others voted.

Graceville Civic Center had 84 Republicans vote this morning, 20 Democrats and no others voted.

Grand Ridge Community Center had 84 Republicans vote this morning with 26 Democrats, and no others casting their vote.

Greenwood Town Hall had 25 Democrats with 14 Republicans and no others cast their vote.

Malone City Hall has had 43 Democrats vote, with 42 Republicans and 5 others casting their vote.

Shady Grove Methodist Church has had 38 Republicans with four Democrats and one other casting votes today.

Sneads City Hall has had 51 Republican voters casting their vote today with 30 Democrats and no others voting.

Welcome Assembly of God Church has had 43 Republicans vote today with 32 Democrats voting and one other making their vote count.

We will update again today at 3 p.m. Total of 32.10% have voted in this election.
