Eddie Finch turned 48 years old December 13 and the celebration was on. Finch is well-known throughout the community for his support of the Marianna Fire Department and fireman across the county.
He has been the grand marshal at many parades in Marianna and can always be seen in the Marianna fire truck with a wave and a smile for all to see. His birthday was celebrated in much the way it is every year, surrounded by his fellow firefighters and his coffee club buddies. Although this is his first birthday without his dad, Ed Finch, Eddie enjoyed a great time with his sister, Julie Collins making the trip from Ohio to spend the week with him and make sure his birthday was as special as always.
Jack Hollis, long time member of the Coffee Club and a huge fan of Eddie’s said of the birthday celebration, “Eddie is what life is all about. You never see him without a smile on his face and his fire department hat and jacket. He’s a loyal a friend as anyone could ever ask for. I know the Coffee Club counts his as one of our own and enjoy our time with him.”
The fire engine cake was a huge hit along with all of Eddie’s presents.
