Eddie Allen Register, 89 of Graceville passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021 following an extended illness.
A Home-going service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Damascus Baptist Church with Rev. Chester Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with U. S. Navy Honors, James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.
Family will receive friends at the church Saturday 9 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Eddie was born in Graceville on September 4, 1931, to the late Glen O. Register, Sr. and Maxie Dixon Register. A 1949 graduate of Graceville High School, he joined the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean Conflict. He then received a degree in Dairy Science from the University of Florida, moving back to Graceville and became co-owner of Register Dairy, along with his brother. Mr. Eddie owned several convenience stores and grocery stores in various locations of Jackson, Bay, Washington and Holmes Counties. His heart was mostly in farming and his livestock. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Dorothy Jean Register, two brothers Glen O. Register, Jr., Jimmy Register and one sister Guinevere Pennington.
Survived by three sons Allen Register, Graceville, Scott Register (Pam), Panama City, David Register (Maura), Tallahassee; two daughters Kaye Register, Grand Prairie, TX, Kim Schierer (Tim), Graceville; one sister-in-law Betty Register, Graceville; ten grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
