Mrs. Dorothy Groomes, of Marianna, Florida, transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Wednesday, January 5, 2020, in Chipola Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Homegoing Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunrise Worship Center located at 2645 Pebble Hill Road in Marianna, Florida 32448 where Rev. Dr. Samuel E. Everett is the Pastor and Elder Darryl Groomes, Sr. officiating.
Interment will be in the Orange Hill Cemetery, in Marianna, Florida.
Vann Funeral Home in charge of service.
Mrs. Groomes will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time for the service.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Vann Funeral Home.
Mrs. Groomes leaves to cherish and celebrate a lifetime of fond yet precious memories a loving and devoted family:
5 Daughters: Sharon Diane (Michael) Hamm, Gwenette Smith both of Marianna, Florida; Gwendolyn Nicholson, Barbara Ann Groomes both of Greenwood, Florida and Marsha Marshell Stephen of Cottondale, Florida
4 Sons: Handy (Gloria) Groomes, Darryl (Jennie) Groomes both of Greenwood, Florida; Cedric (Alma) Groomes and Anthony Groomes both of Marianna, Florida
1 Sister: Edna (Frank) Truitt of Marianna, Florida
And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
So sorry to hear of Dorothy’s passing. She was a very dear friend of mine. I just found out about her transition. My condolences to her family. I shall always remember her beautiful smile and loving personality.
