Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Jaunell Lewis, age 92, of Graceville, passed away Saturday morning, June 06, 2020 at her residence.

She was born December 15, 1927, in Graceville, Florida, a daughter of the late William Young Peters, Sr, and the late Ada Luverne Peters, both of Graceville, Florida.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, William “Jack” Lowell Lewis of Graceville, Florida and on brother, William “Billy” Young Peters, Jr. of Dothan, Alabama.

She was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s witnesses in Chipley, Florida. Dorothy, along with her husband, were owners of an A&W Root Beer Drive-In restaurant in Manteca, California for many years before moving back to Graceville to be a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by 2 daughters, Virginia Grace Lewis (TJ) and Debra Jean Walker (Charles), both of Graceville; six grandchildren, Troy Overland of Anderson, CA, Sherry Leffler (AL) of Redding, CA, Tamara Caspar (John) of Elk Grove, CA, Eric Lewis (Jaime) of Graceville, FL, Amber Leach (Justin) of Panama City, FL, and Maranda Johnson (Garret) of Dothan, AL; two sisters, Margaret Pulsifer of Anderson, CL and Jacqueline Stewart of Richard, VA; 18 great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2020, at Marvin Chapel Cemetery in Graceville, FL with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. A memorial service will be held at a later day at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Chipley, FL.
