Donny William Parmer, age 69, of Marianna, FL, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at his residence.
Donny was born on September 22, 1954 in Dothan, AL. Graduating from Marianna High School, Donny enlisted into the United States Air Force in 1973 and served in the Vietnam War. After serving in the military, Donny was a certified mechanic for John Deere for many years. He was an avid metal sculptor and loved to hunt, fish and spend time in the outdoors. Donny was awarded the Bravery & Valor award for saving a mother and her child from drowning at the Chattahoochee Dam.
Donny was preceded in death by his mother, Francis R. Money; adopted parents, Thelma and Shelby Parmer; and wife, Joann Sims Parmer.
Donny is survived by his children, Cecil Miles and wife, Shannon of Tallahassee, FL, Debbie Dawn Hall, as well as Angie Lee Parmer both of Idaho. Survivors also include his sisters, Sharon Cullifer of Headland, AL, Donna Lynn Parmer of Marianna, FL and one brother, Danny Money and wife, Ann of Oklahoma City, OK.
A graveside service will be 2 P.M., Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Sink Creek Cemetery with Pastor Gino Mayo officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 1:30 P.M. until the time of service at Sink Creek Cemetery. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
