Dillon Burton Kilpatrick passed away peacefully on May 7, 2022 at his home in Sneads, Florida.

Dillon was born January 31st, 1928 in Basinger, Florida to Drayton and Alice Kilpatrick. A few years after the death of their parents, he moved to Sneads with his sister, Lucille and brother, Redin. He served in the Korean War as a young man and returned to Sneads where he met the love of his life, Niley. He made his living as a farmer and rancher. Dillon also contributed significantly to his community. Proud of his service to his country, he was an active member of the American Legion Post 241. He served as the commander for several years and led several memorial projects across the county. He loved to meet people and tell all sorts of stories.

He is predeceased by his wife, Niley “Pat” Kilpatrick, and daughter, Ann Watts. He leaves behind his son, Ken Kilpatrick, son Ed Kilpatrick and wife, Kathi, daughter, Lynn Hart and husband, Mark, daughter Bobbi Kilpatrick and husband Greg as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 2:00 PM Central Time in the Sneads First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Pope Cemetery with American Legion Post 241 presenting military honors. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Central Time in the chapel of McAlpin Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the American Legion Post 241 Ladies Auxiliary, PO Box 125, Sneads, FL 32460.
