Angels accompanied Dennis James Barfield Sr., of Marianna, FL., on Monday June 10, 2019 at the age of 80 to the arms of Jesus our Lord and Savior. He was a native of Cottondale, FL. and a longtime resident of the Rocky Creek community and a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church.
Dennis will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time fishing with his grandchildren, David, Eldon, and Jaymi and his favorite was playing cowboys with his grandson, Connor.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia; son Dennis James (Jimmy) Barfield Jr. and wife Lisa; daughters Dottie Holt and husband Larry, Belinda Talley, Denise Gay and husband “Chops”, Pamela Simmons, Carol Dawson and husband Ben, Anne Pierce, and Dawn Williams. He is also survived by 4 sisters: Ezella Creamer and husband Early, Essie Lee Barnes, Margaret Russell and husband Delmer, Terri Huggins; 5 brothers: Ephrom Barfield and wife Cynthia, Bobby Barfield, Buddy Barfield and wife Joyce, Tony Barfield, Tommy Barfield and wife Brenda.
He was preceded in death by both parents; sisters Ethel Plotke and Judy Horton; bothers Eugean Barfield and Vernon Barfield.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday June 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Marianna, FL.
