David Bruce Barefield, 73, of Dellwood, Florida passed away from cancer on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Marianna Health and Rehab. He was born on July 25, 1949 to J.D. and Mildred Barefield. David was a lifelong resident of Dellwood.
He attended Greenwood High School and Chipola Vocational School. David served in the Florida National Guard. He retired from the Florida Department of Corrections where he worked serving at ACI for many years.
David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, John Ted Barefield, who resides in Tallahassee, FL.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM CST, Monday, November 28, 2022 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Rev. Gary Gable officiating. Interment will follow in Dellwood Baptist Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing
The family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral service at James & Sikes.
In lieu of flowers, it is asked that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
