The Times contacted the Jackson County Health Department today (Tuesday) in reference to questions our readers have about COVID-19 numbers.Total positive cases shown for Jackson today is 415 with nine of those being non-residents. The Jackson County Health Department is presently actively monitoring 66 ACTIVE cases. They are monitoring 147 individuals and that includes the 66 active cases.The cases being reported from GEO (Graceville correctional facility) were conducted by a private facility and do not show up automatically after inmates started showing some symptoms. The private lab doesn’t automatically populate those results so there will be a big jump Wednesday. The active number will jump by 74 or so Wednesday due to the GEO numbers.Sunland has no active or monitored cases at this time.Hopefully, this clarifies this for everyone.
