Cottondale wins big over Emmanuel Christian

The Cottondale Hornets picked up a huge 16-6 road win over Emmanuel Christian. Coach Skylar Davis put the ball in Caleb Nix’s hand for the start on the mound. Nix went five innings, gave up four runs on one hit, five walks and fanned 10 batters. Luke Ohler came on in relief, gave up two unearned runs on two hits, two walks and struck out one before giving way to Jude Haser who closed out the game. Haser gave up no runs on no hits, no walks and struck out one batter.
Cottondale picked up 12 hits, took advantage of four walks and eight Emmanuel Christian miscues in picking up their win.
Leading the Hornets at the plate was their closer on the mound. Jude Haser showed he could shine on both sides of the diamond. Haser had three hits, three runs scored and two RBIs, with Jordan Braxton with two hits, three RBIs and one run scored. On board with two hits, one walk, three runs scored and two RBIs was Cason Holley, with Andrew Rush recording one hit and two RBIs. Caleb Nix and Austin Grissett had two runs scored, one hit and one RBI each while Dylan Tyus had one hit, one RBI and one run scored, followed by Luke Ohler with one walk and three runs scored. Blake Benton had one hit, one run scored, one RBI and a sacrifice.
Cason Holley, Luke Ohler and Dylan Tyus reached on errors while Austin Grissett took two for the team with Caleb Nix and Luke Ohler both taking one.
