The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners will have its regular meeting January 11 at 9 a.m. and a special meeting at 10 a.m. to discuss road selection for the FDOT five-year work plan.


The Altrusa Club meets at 12:00 p.m.


The American Legion Post 100 will hold an open meeting for the public on Tuesday, January 11th, with the invited guest speaker being Belinda Stephens, who serves as Coordinator for The Center for Career and Alumni Development at Chipola College. The American Legion is located West on Highway 90 from Marianna and is West of the National Guard Armory and the Ag. Center. Veterans, family members, and friends of Veterans are invited to the meeting and dinner at 6:00 pm.


The Greenwood Town Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the town hall located at 4207 Bryan St., Greenwood, FL.

January 12


The First United Methodist Church of Marianna extends an open invitation to a 7 a.m. breakfast followed by 30 minutes of Bible study and Christian teachings by Pastor Nathan Attwood. The breakfast is $2 and the Pastor’s message is free. The breakfast Wesley Center adjacent to the Marianna Post Office parking lot. Call George 209-2072 or Jim 718-7340 for more info.


The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints History/Genealogy Library is open to the public on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 8:00a.m. – 2:00 p.m. To make an appointment call 482-8159 during these hours. All services are free including Family Search and Ancestry.


The Marianna Optimist Club meets at 12:00 p.m.


The Marianna Rotary Club meets at 12:00 p.m.


The Chipola Civic Club meets at 12:00 p.m.


The Pilot Club of Marianna meets at 12:10 p.m.


Chipola College Theatre will hold open auditions for the “The Importance of Being Earnest’’ and “Gee’s Bend” at 6 p.m., in the Chipola Center for the Arts. Auditions are open to ages 14 and up.
