Cletus E. Neel was born December 18, 1937 in Dellwood Florida. He went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Cletus was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was also a wonderful brother, uncle, and friend to everyone. He always made everyone feel welcome and loved. He had the most wonderful sense of humor. He was the definition of a righteous man and he left a lasting impression on everyone he came in contact with. He had a love for music and singing and a special talent to play any string instrument by ear. Playing the banjo and guitar were his favorites. He was a faithful member of Cypress community church. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, he managed his illness with strength and grace. Cletus was a builder. He built his home from the ground up and even built a barn at the age of 75. If he didn’t know how to build or fix something he would ask the Lord to show him. He even built a prayer tower so that he could be closer to the Lord during prayer. Cletus also loved to cook and have family over. During his illness, he shared many of his recipes with his daughter, Katie Diane and his sister, Margaret. He referred to them as his left and right hand. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Gladys Neel; his loving wife for 36 years Ann Grantham Neel and his loving wife of 19 years Bernice Neel. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Melvin, brother, Lawrence Neel; sister, Mandy Grantham; son, Johnny Neel; daughter, Katie Diane Black (Jerry), son, Joseph Neel (Anna); seven grandchildren, Allison Crawford (Jeremy), Brandon Moats, Trenton Moats, Peyton Black, Katelon Black, Michael Poole and Judy Ann Neel; great-grandchildren, Brantley and Brynlee Crawford; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 9, 2022 at Cypress Community Church. Interment will follow in Cypress Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery in Dellwood. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cypress Community Church. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.jamesandsikesfuneralhomes.com
