Clemis “Wayne” Carnley, 72, stepped out of this world into his Eternal Heavenly home on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Wayne was doing what he loved, checking on his cows when the Lord called him Home.

Wayne was born on June 5, 1950, in Graceville, Florida to the late Clemis “O.C.” Carnley and Mary “Frances” Sorrow Carnley. Wayne graduated from Poplar Springs High School in 1969. On April 26, 1971, Wayne joined the U.S. Army National Guard where he served for six years. On June 9, 1973, he married the Love of His Life, Shirley Owens Carnley. They were married just six months shy of 50 years. They were blessed with two children Jason (Tammy) Carnley, Amy (Jason) Chitty, five grandchildren Logan Chitty, Karlee Chitty, Hannah Carnley, Hunter Carnley and Caleb Chitty, whom he was extremely proud of each of them!! Wayne is also survived by his sister Glenda (Dwayne) Watson, mother-in-law Catherine Owens, sisters-in-law Charlene Owens, Patsy (Harold) Kirkland, Robbie (Rob) Owens, Kathy Owens Edwards, brothers-in-law Charles Ray Owens, Jr., and Steven (Michelle) Owens, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with working on his farm and cattle, Wayne also worked on the side with Kelly Farms, in Hartford, Alabama for several years. He was a longtime member of Little Rock Assembly of God Church.

A Home-going service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Little Rock Assembly of God Church with Sis. Sherri Evans, Bro. Joe Earnest, and Bro. Calvin Sherrouse officiating. The burial will follow in church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.

Family will receive friends at Little Rock Assembly of God Church, Friday, January 27, 2023, beginning at 5 p.m.
