Charles Jackson “Jack” Burgess, 87, of Marianna, Florida passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. He was born in Campbellton, Florida on September 3, 1931. Jack was a veteran of the US Army and served his country honorably. He was a hardworking businessman, a loving father, proud grandfather and great grandfather. Jack loved fishing and spending time with his precious family. Jack will be missed by his family and many friends.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Martha C. Burgess; two sons, Charles Reggie Burgess and his wife Melissa Nelson and Anthony S. Burgess; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, as well as, many other extended family members and one very special canine friend and protector “Snowball”.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Minnie Burgess; and four brothers.
Visitation with family and friends will take place at Eastside Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 12:00 PM CST. A Celebration of Life Service will follow beginning at 1:00 PM CST with Dr. Shawn Buice officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing. Interment will be private on a later date.
