Cathrin Jeannette Howell, 83, of Sneads, Florida passed away peacefully at Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, December 18, 2022. She was born in Grand Ridge, Florida on February 15, 1939, to Walter Wesley Edenfield and Matoaka Stanley Edenfield. She was a graduate of Grand Ridge High School, Class of 1957. Jeannette retired after 28 years of dedicated service from Florida State Hospital as a Human Service Worker II in Unit 31. She was a master seamstress. She sewed for the entire Chattahoochee community including Chattahoochee High School band and JROTC. In retirement, Jeanette enjoyed cooking and baking, her specialty was red velvet cake. Jeannette was also an award winning crocheter. She was a kind and gentle lady with a lot of spunk and a multitude of “one liners”. Family was her main priority and she spent as much time with them as possible; her family was her entire world. Jeannette lived a life of serving others and will be missed by so many.

She is predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Elizabeth Harvey and LaRue Stanford; and a brother, James Alvin Edenfield.

Jeannette is survived by her children, William Bradley Howell and his wife Tanya, Janet Wilson and her husband Bill, Dina Wilson and her husband Jimmy, and Stacy Gibson and her husband Gary; two sisters, Alice Godwin and Dianne Schamens; a brother, Sam Edenfield and his wife Elizabeth; her grandchildren, Chris, Billy, Franky, Samantha, Tony, Joni, Joshua, Laynie, Alicia, Cierra, Dustin, Rebecca, and Rea; and her great grandchildren, Brett, Jacob, Constance, Avery, Drake, Ansley, Gracie, Kinlee, and Charleigh.

Ms. Jeannette’s family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Marianna Health and Rehab and the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice for the loving care shown to Ms. Jeannette and her family.

Funeral Services for Ms. Jeannette will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, beginning at 1:00 PM CST in the chapel of McAlpin Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Benefield officiating.
