Catherine Jeanette Nichols, age 76, transitioned from this earth to eternal life on July 21, 2021. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends, who will miss her dearly.
Catherine was born on December 7, 1944, to the late Park and Florance Basford. Catherine Jeanette lived a full life and enjoyed many hobbies; such as crocheting, drawing, reading her Bible, shopping, planting flowers, and spending time with her family and friends. She loved the Lord and her family with all her heart.
Along with her parents, Catherine Jeanette was preceded in death by her loving husband, Horace Nichols; brother, Delma Basford; and sister-in-law, Tessa Basford.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Teresa McDonald (Tommy) of Marianna and Jenny Foster of Cypress; sister, Linda Hamby (Dan) of Georgia; brother, Wayne Basford and daughter, Katie of Georgia; sister-in-law, Mary Basford of Cypress; three grandchildren, April Byrd (Philip) of Georgia, Stephanie Darby (Jud) of Marianna, and James Foster (Jessica) of Cypress; four great-grandchildren, Tyke and Taylin Byrd, Jayce and Colt Darby, and one baby girl on the way as well as several friends and family members who will cherish her memory and who loved her dearly.
Graveside funeral services will be 2 P.M., Friday, July 23, 2021 at Cypress Cemetery with Chaplin Gino Mayo Officiating, Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. – 1:30 P.M. at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or charitable donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice in memory of Catherine Jeanette Nichols.
