Minister Carrie Blanks Bourgeois age 78 of Montgomery, AL passed away Wednesday November 6th at Baptist East Hospital in Montgomery, AL surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services were held 11a.m Saturday November 16th at Greater Allenville AOH Church located 2930 Whistle Street Mobile, AL with Elder Leo Fox officiating.
Interment followed in Pine Crest West Cemetery located 1599 Snow Road Mobile, AL with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton, FL directing.
Minister Carrie B. Blanks Bourgeois was the youngest child born to the late Johnnie Baldwin and Willie Mae Nelson.
She was converted on April 17, 1988 and joined St. John AOH Church, in Prichard, AL under the leadership of Bishop Clifton Elners, where she was a faithful member.
Her hobbies included cooking and sewing, reading her bible and sharing the word. She enjoyed traveling and devoted her life to helping anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Willie Earl Blanks; son: Danny Smith of Delaware; siblings: Clarence Baldwin of Mobile, AL, Joe Calhoun of New Orleans LA, Albert G. Baldwin, Johnny Lee James of Mobile, AL and Shermita Knight (Buster) of Prichard, AL.
She leave to cherish her memories five loving children: Charles Carter (Hope) of Missouri, Admire Gant Jr. (Dildra) of Mobile, AL, Cynthia G. Taylor of Montgomery, AL, Gwendolyn G. Jones of Mobile, AL and Marcia Young of Mobile, AL; her siblings: Willie Baldwin Sr. (Fannie) of Clarksville, GA, James Davis Jr. (Sadie) of Delaware, Mike Nelson of Mobile, AL; a special childhood friend of seventy plus years: Georgia Harris and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren friends and family.
