Carolyn Faulk Sims, 89, of Marianna, died Saturday, March 25, 2023 at her home.
Carolyn was born August 7, 1933 and was a native and life-long resident of Jackson County. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family and her home. Carolyn took pride in a clean house, delivering pans of her famed “Wonderful Bars” to loved ones and those in need, and being a spectator at the various sporting, dance, 4-H, and FFA events her grandchildren participated in. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and volunteered countless hours as part of the Relief Society, the women’s organization of the church, and doing genealogy work in the Family History Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Plez and Claudine Faulk; husband, James H. (Pete) Sims; daughter, Sue Ellen Sims White; and brothers, Lee and Plez Faulk.
She is survived by her two sons, Petey (Liz) and Mark (Lori) of Marianna; son-in-law, Ken White of Suwanee, GA; and sisters, Laura Williams (Leroy) and June Laramore (Kenny) of Marianna, and Jane Braswell of Bartow, FL.
Survivors also include her 13 grandchildren, Kendel White, Mitchell White, Brennen White, Avery Chamberlain (Dillon), Judd Sims (Rachael), Whitney Cherry (Reed), Caleb Sims (Rachel), Murphy Sims, Valerie Sims, Natalie Rasmussen (Ethan), Hank Sims, Alayna Sims, and Caroline Sims; 10 great-grandchildren, Ty Cherry, Ella Cherry, Anna Cherry, Nolin Cherry, Camila Sims, Jim Sims, Gabi Sims, James Sims, Rylee Chamberlain, and Briggs Chamberlain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Jon Sims officiating. Interment will follow at Sink Creek Cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel officiating.
