Carl Dykes, 70, of Dellwood, FL died Saturday, March 6, 2021, at his residence. He was born January 28, 1951, to L.C. and Hattie Hamilton Dykes. He was a native and lifelong resident of Dellwood, Carl retired after 30 years of security service at Florida State Hospital and Sneads Police Dept and other law enforcement agencies in Jackson County. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, H.C. Dykes, Charles Dykes, Earl Dykes, Dearell Dykes, J.D. Dykes; and sister, Carolyn Melnik, all of Dellwood. He is survived by son, Michael Dykes (Angel) of Tallahassee; daughters, Rachel Mitchell of Tullahoma, TN, Jennifer Goldman of Ardmore, TN; one sister, Thelma Cook (Eddie Ray) of Sneads; nephew, Wayne Dykes (Jane) of Dellwood; six grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be 2PM Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Cow Pen Pond Cemetery with Dennis Creamer officiating and James & Sikes Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Cow Pen Pond Cemetery.
