Mark Skinner | TIMES - Cardinals first place

The Cardinals suffered one loss throughout the season at Optimist Park so to say they were the favorite in last week’s championship would be a given. However, the Falcons had an itch to scratch in this game and they gave the Cardinals a run for their money. When the final whistle blew, however, it was the Cardinals holding on for championship title, outscoring the Falcons 18-6.
For the Cardinals, it was Kris Smith finding the end zone to put his team up 6-0 before adding a second touchdown to make it a 12-0 game. The Falcons answered back with a touchdown by Emanuel Ephriam to narrow the gap 12-6 with just one score separating the two teams. Smith added another touchdown with just two minutes to go in the game to seal the victory for the Cards, 18-6.
Congratulations to the Cardinals on their championship and to the Falcons on their outstanding season from the staff and publisher of the Jackson County Times.
