Beginning Monday, June 10, readers of all ages will explore all things space as the Jackson County Public Library presents the 2019 Summer Reading Program “A Universe of Stories.” The five-week program will include fun activities such as group games, musical crafts, and art projects. The Summer Reading Program is open to children aged preschool through sixth grade, with programs, prize giveaways, story times, and more. Mobile Planetarium, Jackson County Public Library, 2929 Green Street, Marianna, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Go on a virtual trip through the solar system! Educators from the Emerald Coast Science Center will be at your Jackson County Public Library with their Mobile Planetarium to take you on a space tour! With stops on eight planets beginning with Mercury, and an exploration of the constellations, this special program is not to be missed! Each tour lasts 25 minutes and is suitable for all ages except the very young. Please note that due to the size of the Planetarium seating is limited. Sexual Assault Survivors Group – hosted by Gulf Coast Sexual Assault Program for ages 18 and above first & third Thursdays of each month in 2018. Location: Gulf Coast SAP Program office 2901 Madison St., Marianna from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Refreshments provided. The purpose of this group is to provide support for adult survivors of sexual assault and those who were sexually abused as children.
