The Jackson County Times received the following press release from the Marianna Police Department.
On April 7th , 2023 at approximately 6:40am officers with the Marianna Police Department received a call in reference to a subject entering a residence while the homeowners were inside. This incident took place at a residence between Russ Street
and Wynn Street. While the residents were inside their home, a black male, entered the residence through the front door and traveled through the residence, making his way to the bedroom.
The subject was confronted by the homeowners inside the residence. The homeowner did arm themselves with a firearm and fired shots at the suspect, however the suspect fled. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, approximately 5’10” tall, wearing an orange or red shirt and a white in color undershirt. The suspect appeared to be wearing tan or light-colored shorts and possibly wearing a hat prior to the incident. This incident is currently being investigated by the Marianna Police Department.
