Broward Lee O’Pry, 71, of Marianna, Florida died Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at his residence.

He was born March 12, 1951 in DeFuniak Springs to William and Hazel. He made his living as an Electrical Engineer for Florida Public Utilities.

Broward was a jack of all trades. He loved spending time with his family, especially when they were together on his back porch. Known as the best tractor operator around, when he wasn’t on the clock, he was working on clearing land. When the weekend came, he was elbow deep in grease getting ready for the Race Track.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Dozier O’Pry and mother, Hazel Lee O’Pry; brother, William Dozier O’Pry, Jr.; and dear friend JR Gortemoller.

Broward is survived by his children, Tammy Bevis and husband, Andy, Jeff O’Pry and wife, Michelle, Stephen O’Pry and wife, Amber, Tony Tye and wife, Beth; grandchildren, Stephen Bevis and wife, Savanah, Josh Nickles and wife, Kayla, Kayla Nickles, James Lien, III and wife, Julie, Kristi Lien and significant other, Otha, Ceanna Smith and husband, Justin, Payton Singletary and husband, Tyler, Madison Clark and husband, Luke, Ryan O’Pry, RhaeLynn O’Pry, Spencer O’Pry, Toby O’Pry, Ulijah O’Pry, Vincent O’Pry, Jeffery Tye, Justin Tye; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Weslee, Waylon, Trenton, Bellamy, Jemma, William “Will”, Elliott, Kara, Asher; siblings, Larry O’Pry, Marry Moone and husband, Leo, David O’Pry, James O’Pry, Martha Sego and husband, Rickey; special friends, Steve and Peggy McCool; and his loyal four legged companion, Buddy.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, April 22, 2022 at Damascus Free Will Baptist Church with Odis Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow in Damascus Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM one hour prior to the service.
