Brenda Gale Welch, 65, was called to her heavenly home to join her family on June 4, 2023, at Southeast Health after a very brave nine-month battle. She was 65 years old. Brenda was born August 1, 1957, in Donalsonville, Georgia to Walter Amos and Vivian Hartzog Peeler. She graduated from Malone High School in 1975 and worked many years at the local town clinic as a medical assistant. She then spent several years at Lehigh Furniture in Marianna, Florida. Most recently, she worked as a Pharmacy Technician at the pharmacy in Malone for over 25 years. She served on the Town Council of Malone for many years and most recently as Mayor of Malone for the past three years. She was the best mama and nana you could ever ask for. She was dedicated to her family and was very loved by her family more than she will ever know. She loved her swimming pool, cutting grass, shopping, getting pedicures, fishing with her husband and taking care of the people in Malone. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Amos and Vivian Hartzog Peeler; father-in-law, George Raymond Welch, and mother-in-law, Johnnie Nell Lipford She is survived by her dedicated, loving husband of 42 years, Roger Welch; four daughters, Amy (Michael) Askew of Grangerburg, AL, Shannon Welch of Gordon, AL, April Welch of Blakely, GA, and Beth (Wade) King of Malone, FL; nine grandchildren, Hollie and Shelby Kate Askew, Blaine Daffin, Kade and Maci Buie, Sierra Harrell, Dalton and Trenton Elmore, Kinley King; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Bobbie (Sharon) Peeler of Bascom, FL; two brothers-in-law, Steve (Gwen) Welch of Greenwood, FL; Roland Welch of Greenwood, FL; and a sister-in-law, Sandra (Cary) Hughes of Gordon, AL. Funeral services will be 10AM, Thursday, June 8, 2023 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel with Revs. Steven Welch and Ed Ham officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Cemetery in Malone. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel.
