On Monday, September 2, 2019, Betty Land Cloud, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister sought the presence of her Lord and left her earthly home to be with Him.
Betty was born in Kinard, Florida on July 16, 1932 to John Fred and Sudie Mollie Kemp Land.
She was a 1950 graduate of Kinard School where she was a member of the lady’s basketball team and valedictorian of her graduating class. She and her husband of 67 years met at Florida State Hospital where they were both employed. They married in Donalsonville, Georgia on September 15, 1951. Betty was a member of Dellwood Baptist Church where she faithfully served the Lord in various positions for 63 years. She was a supportive member of her community reaching out to all who needed her assistance. Her hobbies were reading, canning, gardening and serving others.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Lillie Price, Lois Braswell, Stella Burnham; and four brothers, Clayton, George, John and JB Land.
She is survived by her loving husband James; two daughters, Judy Weeks and her husband John and Karla Harris; one grandson, Carlon Dilmore and his wife Aubree; one sister, Myrtle Irving and a sister in law, Helen Land.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice and a very special caregiver Ms. Ollie Anderson for their faithful loving care of Mrs. Betty.
Visitation with family and friends will be held at McAlpin Funeral Home on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Central Time. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 AM Central Time on Friday, September 6, 2019 at Dellwood Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Gable, Dr. Bo Hammock and Rev. Johnny Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
