Betty Jean Richardson age 88 of Chattahoochee, Florida went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 2, 2021. She was born on April 7, 1933 in Harrisburg, Illinois to the late Russell Brown and Addie Weeks Brown. Betty was a longtime resident of Chattahoochee, coming here in 1968 from Fort Worth, Texas. She worked and retired as office manager of Family Medical Clinic.
Betty was a member of Sneads Assembly of God and adored her church family. She will be remembered for her love of Jesus, her family, her generosity, and for her famous pound cakes which she baked and delivered far and wide to friends and shut ins. Betty enjoyed fishing in her younger years and then her interest turned to embroidering countless blankets and gifts for family and friends. She just loved to give.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Kenneth Wayne Richardson; one son, Johnny M. Ranew.
Betty is survived by two children, Connie Michael and husband John of Fort Worth, Texas and Ronald M. Ranew of Rincon, Georgia; one brother, William Brown and wife Ella of Harrisburg, Illinois; three grandchildren, Melinda (Suzy) Michael, Johanna Mathis, and Jodi Garrett; five great-grandchildren, John Wayne Michael, Dakota Michael Tindall, Vivian Mathis, Miles Mathis, and Phoebe Mathis. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Central Time on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Chattahoochee, with Dr. Juno Douglas officiating.
A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, from 6:00 P.M. Central Time until 7:30 P.M. Central Time in the McAlpin Funeral Home.
