Bernice Holland, age 94, of Marianna, FL, passed away January 30, 2022 at Jackson Hospital.
Ms. Bernice was born December 12, 1927 to the late Thomas Bowen and Ellen Benonna Reese in Jakin, GA. Bernice was known as a very hardworking, beautiful and wise lady. She was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman and is now resting at the feet of Jesus. Bernice joyfully served the Lord and her loved ones with acts of service and home cooking. She was known to host meals in her home and always made guest feel loved and welcomed. She also had a knack for baking and loved making pie and cakes to share with her family.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Holland; granddaughters, Sydney Holland and Sherry Holland; parents, Thomas Bowen and Ellen Benonna Reese; sister, Laura Williams; brother, Thomas Bowen; and son in law, Bobby Newton.
She is survived by her children, Linda Newton, Jamie Holland and wife, Patsy, Steve Holland and wife, Frankie, Tommy Holland and wife, Cassandra, Jeffrey Holland and wife, Stacey all of Marianna, FL; sister, Jane Tapia of Tampa, FL; brother, Pete Bowen of Marianna, FL; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside funeral service for Ms. Bernice will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Brandon Griffin officiating. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home will be directing.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Sydney Holland Nursing Scholarship Fund by contacting the Chipola College Foundation. Memorial contributions may also be made to Emerald Coast Hospice at 3015 Jefferson Street, Unit C & E, Marianna, Fl, 32446.
