Alexandra “Alex” Nikole Sturkey, age 38, went home to be with the Lord and reunited with her father, David Sturkey, on Friday, May 19th, 2023.
Alex was born on September 26th, 1984 at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond to David and Kelly Sturkey. She will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Kelly, and her younger siblings, Kaitlin (Taylor), Benjamin, and Abrielle. She also leaves behind many extended family and friends that were like family.
Alex spent the first half of her life in Sarasota, Florida, later relocating to Marianna, Florida. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, cooking, photography, listening to music, true crime podcasts, traveling, and being out on the water.
Alex had a strong work ethic and worked in retail for 15 plus years. She was known as a cheerleader and encourager to her coworkers and enjoyed helping others succeed.
Alex was empathetic by nature and did her best to serve and meet both the emotional and practical needs of those around her by always caring for others more than herself. She had a unique way of caring for those around her with her whole heart.
A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14th 2023 at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home with Taylor White officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorialization will be by cremation with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
