On Friday, May 5, 2023, Adrienne Jessie Ryals passed away at home at the age 42 she, went home to be with her Lord and Savior. Lovingly known as Jessie to family and those close to her, she was a resident of Marianna, Florida with her Mother and Grandmother.

Jessie loved animals and was an avid supporter of ASPCA, animal foster care, animal sanctuaries and the like. She loved the outdoors, spending time walking in nature, planting and caring for flowers, and fishing. Jessie’s loving heart and strong-willed spirit are a couple of her well-known traits, as she was always willing to lend a hand to others and her ‘can-do’ attitude of getting things done herself always stood out. Jessie was born September 7, 1980, to Jimmy and Patricia Ryals and became the baby of the family to her two siblings, Casey and Brian. Her childhood nickname of ‘Moose’ stuck with her for years, as she was known for her size and hefty appetite as a small child, later growing into the beautiful young woman we will always remember.

Jessie was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Manuel Ryals; aunt, Letitia Peacock; uncle, Mark Deese; grandparents, AJ and Marie Ryals; and her grandfather, Jim Hussey.

She joins her daddy in heaven and is survived by her beloved son, Aiden (Nikki) Crosby of Tallahassee; mother, Patricia Melvin Sallas of Marianna, FL; siblings, Brian (Kelly) Ryals of Tallahassee, FL and Casey (Mike) White of Chesapeake, VA; grandmother, Sue Hussey; aunt, Denise Deese and uncle, Kenneth Melvin; cousins, Melanie House, Dustin Walters and DJ Walters and their families – along with a special longtime friend, Rance Carroll. She leaves a host of extended family members and devoted friends to cherish precious memories of their loved one.

Arrangements by James & Sikes Funeral Home of Marianna, Florida. No public service will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held later, with details announced prior to the service. The Ryals/Melvin Family extends a loving “Thank You” to everyone reaching out to the family and assisting during this very difficult time.
