Pastor Lureatha Greenwood McIntyre of Tucson, Arizona and formerly of Panama City entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 3rd at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Tucson. She was 91 years old.

Her Christian journey started early at Triumph The Church and Kingdom of God in Christ, Panama City, Florida. She served as Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, and Evangelist. Later called by God to Minister to His people and she became Pastor of Open Doors Holiness Church, Lynn Haven, Florida. She was a faithful worker for the Lord until her health started to fail, but not her FAITH in God. She relocated to Tucson, Arizona and joined Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church.

Pastor McIntyre was a very loving person and she did not mind sharing the Lord with anyone she met. Raising three children could not have been easy but with God’s help she did it! Thank God for a Mom who did not just send her children to Church, but took us to church and set an example for us to keep God first. Her favorite hobby was canning figs and pears.

She leaves to cherish her memories three children: Nathan Greenwood Jr. (Zandra) of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Cynthia Herring (Paul) of Tucson, Arizona, and Kenny Reed (Capucine) of Ocala, Florida; 17 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Ms. Arleatha Alford of Panama City, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A homegoing celebration will be held at 11:00a.m. graveside Friday, November 13th at St. Luke Memorial Cemetery in Vernon with Elder Randy Williams and Rev. Rufus Woods officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
