June 24-26 Weather Forecast for Jackson County

Florida weather is very subject to change, so please keep an eye out for weather updates.

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued another heat advisory for our area.

Temperatures could reach 101 today and the heat index may hit 109.

There is a 30 percent chance of showers this afternoon and tonight.

Overnight temperatures will be in the mid-70s.

The NWS forecast is predicting a cold snap this weekend that will send temperatures dipping into the low 90s Saturday and Sunday.

Rain is looking pretty likely Saturday.

There is a 50 percent chance in the morning with an 80 percent chance in the afternoon and a 40 percent chance overnight.

There is 40 percent chance Sunday.

In light of today’s soaring temperatures, the weather service is advising people to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned areas, stay out of the sun, check up on relatives and neighbors and never leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles under any circumstances.

If you have to be outside they are recommending extra precautions such as:

1.Rescheduling strenuous activities to early morning or evening when possible.

2.Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

3.Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible.

4.Taking frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.

5.Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

6. Heat stroke is dangerous. Call 9 1 1.
