Annie Merle Kent Toole was born on January 18, 1939 to Jewel and Lena Seay Kent of Alford.
She graduated from Chipley High School in 1957. She began working as a telephone operator right out of high school and worked for Southern Bell /AT&T for 44 years. She married Hollis Toole on August 24, 1957 and they were both lifelong residents of Washington County, FL.
Together they had one child, Penny. Annie Merle was a faithful member of Salem Free Will Baptist Church in Kynesville for her entire life. Once she retired from AT&T, she began attending Chipola College, at the age of 62, and received her Associates degree in elementary education. She enjoyed history and genealogy, and was a member of the Washington County Historical Society.
She was a devoted grandmother to Hunter, Sydney and Kaylen and a friend to many.
Annie Merle was preceded in death by one brother, Hubert Kent, parents, Jewel and Lena Kent, husband, Hollis Toole, son in law, Joey Hagan, and mother in law, Estelle Toole.
Services will be held at Salem Free Will Baptist church in Kynesville on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. and Funeral Service will start at 11:00 A.M. Reverend J.W. Watson and Reverend Donnie Hussey will be officiating. Interment will be at the Salem Free Will Baptist Cemetery. Due to Covid 19 masks are encouraged for safety by the Toole family.
