The Marianna Wrestling team honored its wrestlers and their season Sunday night at First Baptist Church in Marianna. Wrestlers, parents, school administration and supporters were there to end the season with praise and recognition.

The Bulldog Award went to Christian Cosson with the Grinder Award going to Corey Davis.

Rookie of the Year went to freshman William Carrel while the Most Improved Wrestler Award went to senior Jonah Mercer.

The Most Valuable Player Award went to John Maddox, making brother Cole Maddox very proud of his younger brother.

Corey Davis received the Most Takedowns with Christian Cosson taking the Most Escapes.  Most Pins went to John Maddox.

They gave awards to the three State Qualifiers, Corey Davis, John Maddox and Jonah Mercer with Mercer taking Sixth Place at State.

I was given an award for the Jackson County Times coverage and support of the MHS Wrestling Program throughout the year.

The publisher and staff of the Jackson County Times congratulates the entire wrestling team, coaches and parents on a fantastic season.
